YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"Why should there be an early presidential election?" Prime Minister Aram Sargsyan asked in reply to a question regarding the statemen’s made at Yerkrapah’s recent congress. Commenting on the statement by Minister for Coordination of Industrial Infrastructure Activities Vahan Shirkhanian regarding the necessity of holding an early presidential election–the prime minister said that "the government member imposed that question ambiguously."
"Yerkrapah remains Yerkrapah and it has always had unique methods to distinguish them from other political parties. Of course–there may be such expressions–and I accept that they are justified. We must appreciate that this organization raises such issues but does not takes irrational steps. I had anticipated greater complexities but–thank God–everything remained stable," said Sargsyan. The prime minister hopes that the government will remain stable in the future and that inevitable political shocks will not develop into deep political crises.
