TBILISI (Armenpress)–Senior representatives of Georgian and Russian Orthodox Churches–the Board of Caucasian Muslims–Armenian Apostolic Church–representatives of the Roman Catholic Church in the Caucasus–members of the Jewish community–Georgian Evangelical-Baptist Church–international experts and also religious officials from Iran–Turkey–Kuwait and the US met July 18 in the Georgian capital Tbilisi for a two-day conference–entitled "Religion in the Caucasus–Cooperation for Peace."
The conference is held under the patronage of the Georgian Church and Board of Caucasian Muslims.
The participants are expected to assess the developmen’s in the Caucasian region and will also discuss the role of religion in the regulation of inter-ethnic conflicts.
