YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Prime Minister Aram Sargsyan introduced the new ministers to their ministries’ staff Tuesday.
The premier promised that he would answer all questions later–stressing that before presenting the new structure of the government to the head of state–he had held consultations with many specialists–including former ministers. Sargsyan confirmed that "political approaches" had also been taken into account in this process.
In introducing David Vardanian as Minister of State Property Management–Sargsyan said that the advice of the former minister of privatization Pavel Ghaltakhchian had been followed in reorganizing the Ministry.
The prime minister stated that the Ministry of State Property Management should become "the country’s backbone" and described the new minister as a decent–impartial and hard-working man.
The introduction of Minister of Agriculture and Nature Management Zaven Gevorgian took place at the former Ministry of Agriculture; Minister of Health and Social Welfare Ararat Mkrtchian at the former Ministry of Health; Minister of Transport and Communication Robert Nazarian at the former Ministry of Transport.
The new Minister of Territorial Administration and City Planning Coordination Leonid Hakobian was not introduced to his staff as he was absent. Neither was the Minister of Finance and Economy Levon Barkhoudarian introduced–since he was participating in the debate over the 2000 draft budget at the National Assembly.
