BURBANK–Paul Krekorian–Democratic candidate for the 43rd State Assembly District–proudly announced today that he has received the endorsement of State Senator Adam Schiff (D-Burbank). Senator Schiff is the senior Democratic elected official in the 43rd A.D.–and his endorsement will be a critical factor in helping local Democrats choose their nominee on the March 7 primary.
"I’ve worked closely with Paul Krekorian in our community for many years–and I know he is deeply committed to service to the people of our area," Senator Schiff said. "I am supporting Paul because of his long and distinguished record of public service–his unassailable integrity–his deep roots in our community–and his forward-looking agenda on public safety–education–health care and other issues that are critical to our state. As a member of the Assembly–he will be a great leader and a great representative of our district."
Senator Schiff’s endorsement–along with virtually all of the prominent local Democratic activists–the Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley–Democrats for Neighborhood Action–and the Southern Region of the California Democratic Council–illustrates that Paul Krekorian is the overwhelming consensus choice of local Democrats to be their candidate for the State Assembly.
Paul Krekorian thanked the Senator for his endorsement–stating–"Senator Schiff has done an outstanding job of representing our communities in Sacramento–and he has a long and impressive record of dedicating work in leading the fight against violent crime–improving our educational system–and keeping young people away from gangs and drugs. I am very proud to have earned his confidence and his support–and I will work had to continue the kind of neighborhood-based representation that he has always provided to this district.
