Schiff ‘Gravely Disappointed’ With Obama For Not Recognizing Armenian Genocide

Rep. Adam Schiff

WASHINGTON—Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the lead sponsor of the Armenian Genocide Truth and Justice Resolution in Congress, on Friday released a statement after President Obama did not use the word “genocide” to describe the Armenian Genocide ahead of Sunday’s commemoration.
“I’m gravely disappointed that President Obama will now leave office without fulfilling his commitment to recognize the Armenian Genocide. For a President who knows the history so well, who spoke so passionately about the genocide as a Senator and Presidential candidate, and who has always championed human rights, the choice of silence and complicity is all the more painfully inexplicable. Remaining silent in an effort to curry favor with Turkey is as morally indefensible as it will be ineffectual,” said Schiff.
This week, on the House floor, the Congressman read an open letter addressed to Obama urging him to recognize the Armenian Genocide in his final year in office.
“How many administrations must be intimidated into silence before we realize that it never changes Turkish behavior for the better and only emboldens the increasingly authoritarian regime? Recognition of the Armenian Genocide could have been a proud part of the President’s legacy; instead this decision will be just another sad milestone in the struggle to prevent genocide by exposing genocide and its perpetrators,” added Schiff.

He may be “gravely” disappointed but the rest of us new it was coming. Both Bush 41 & 43 plus Clinton and all those who may follow will not break the denial tradition set long ago between the west and Ataturk.

    Dear Congressman Adam Schiff,
    Be proud of your self,
    You did your best for
    The Armenian honest race …
    You can’t say better
Leave P. Obama to recover from
    His unexpected sickness…!
    He lied not on us,
But he lied on him self,
    He will recover one day,
    And say sorry …
But that will be to late …
His tongue lied and is sick
    Filled with cancer cells…
No treatment is available yet …
    Neither in the future …
To lie and lie for 8 times …
    Worse than any sickness …
His words will be written in history
    That he lied …
He wanted to be like Abraham Lincoln
But he couldn’t be that Honorable gentleman
    Who protected the slaves…
Everyone is born with different genes …
    No one is alike…
    Dear Adam Schiff
You are a human…you felt with us …
I can read your honest eyes …
    Shines with humanity…
We much appreciate your feelings …
Your history will be written by
    The Armenian golden hands…
    Who carved Khach-kars …
    Through centuries…
We have already carved your face
With our artful hands in our hearts …

Thank you Representative Adam Schiff for defending the Armenian Genocide, Thank you also to President Obama by not helping Turkey for a soft landing on the Genocide issue, thus giving Armenians, Greecs, Assyrians, over 25 million people around the globe the opportunity to dip Turkey’s name in the mud over and over, and explain the entire world who athe Turks, what they stand for, and how cowardly they are in facing their past. Unfortunatly Turke’s Erdogan is so shortsighted that he can’t realize countries that are not recognising the genocide are not doing any favour to Turkey, the contrary they are benefiting from their shortsightedness, they well know that Armenian genocide issue can’t disappear and will not go away.
