LJUBLJANA (Armenpress)–Slovenia’s president Janez Drnovsek pledged his government’s support for Armenia by helping it create closer ties with Europe–within the framework of the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) program. After concluding talks with visiting Armenian president Robert Kocharian–Drnovsek said the European Neighborhood Policy should facilitate the process of Armenia’s European integration.
Talking to a news conference after talks with Kocharian–Drnovsek said they had discussed the specifics of Slovenia’s assistance to Armenia–particularly–in reform in the judiciary and agricultural sector. "We are ready to share with Armenia our experience–which we have gained during the process of EU integration," Drnovsek said.
Kocharian said Armenia was interested in Slovenia’s experience in implementation of reforms and EU integration. He also discussed the situation in the Balkans and the South Caucasus–and Armenian-Turkish relations.
Kocharian later met Slovenian Foreign Affairs Minister–OSCE acting chairman Dmitri Ruppel to review the Karabagh conflict regulation process. The two discussed issues concerning a peaceful resolution–and the coming meeting of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmen with Armenian and Azeri foreign affairs ministers.
