PARIS–FRANCE (AZG/MIRROR-SPECTATOR ON-LINE) – The embassy of Cyprus here recently issued a report on the systematic desecration and destruction of Greek Cypriot monumen’s–churches,
Among those churches-monasteries is the Armenian convent of Sourp Magar in the Kyrenia Mountains overlooking Cilicia.
According to historical data–the Sourp Magar Monastery was built by Cilician Armenian kings– and sometimes princes and princesses took refuge there.
The Sourp Magar Monastery was known as a sight for pilgrimage.
Following the Turkish invasion in 1974–Turkish forces pillaged and destroyed the monastery.
Thus–a Christian edifice built in 1179 was destroyed by people who do not respect religion and monumen’s that perpetuate the faith of Christians.
