YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A Swedish documentary titled "Where is My Victory" will be shown for the first time at the Moskva Cinema in Yerevan on July 22.
The creators of the film–Pio Holmquist and his wife Susan Khardalian spoke at a press conference July 19 at the Armenian Culture–Sport and Youth Issues Ministry.
"People in Scandinavian countries know little about Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh–including the Karabakh war. We have not seen any war for several centuries and military oppositions in the Middle East and elsewhere are of interest for the people.
"Thus–we decided to fulfill our ideas two years ago. We faced different problems at first and could not find any people that would help us financially. Now when the film is ready we are doing our best to show it in different festivals as well," they said.
Holmquist said that the film describes people who lived through the war and today are suffering from its consequences.
The authors want to say "no" to the war–though knowing that there are also "justified wars."
The film has been already been shown in Nagorno Karabakh–and will be shown in Sweden in autumn.
Holmquist and Khardalian said they would like to show it in Azerbaijan as well. Azerbaijani people also lived through the difficulties of the war.
"We do not tell about the war between nations–we only present human tragedy. We wish that the problem between Armenia and Azerbaijan be regulated through peaceful measures. We are not the enemies of Azerbaijan–but we love Armenia," they said.
