AKHLKALAK–Georgia (A-Info)–Per a decision of the director of the Ivane Javakhishvilu State University–a branch of that institution was opened in Javakhk. The university will be temporarily administered by Akhalkalak university director Merab Beridze.
The Regional Governor of Akhalkalak Artoush Hambartsoumian–after the structuring of the university branch in Akhalkalak–the director of the institution will be a local resident. He added that lecturers will be invited from Yerevan and Tbilisi to comprise the faculty of the university.
Hambartsoumian added that the presence of the university in Javakhk will provide an opportunity to the youth to feel a closer tie with their country and will facilitate the enhanced teaching of the Georgian language in that region.
Preparations for the upcoming academic year will begin in March and on September 1 the university will open its doors to 280 freshmen–140 of whom will be scholarship students. The departmen’s at the university will include Armenian-Georgian history–law–foreign languages and economics.
