YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission held its first meeting in Yerevan March 1. A protocol of conveyance and acceptance of land plots and immovable property in the territory of the Russian military base stationed in Armenia was signed.
At a news conference which followed the signing ceremony–the representative of the Armenian side–Deputy Minister of Defense Astvatsatur Petrossian pointed out that in accordance with the Armenian and Russian intergovernmental agreement signed in 1996–the immovable property and land plots in the territory of Russian military base No. 102 were conveyed to the Russian side for free use for a period of 25 years.
The draft of the deed of conveyance drawn up as a result of the three-day work of the Commission will be submitted to relevant bodies and–after examination–will be signed at the regular meeting of the Commission to be held in about three months.
