YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Turkey’s foreign minister Ismail Cem said his country is not currently able to find funds for construction of Kars-Tbilisi railway–which is estimated at $1.2 billion.
Turkey considers this project to be very important–because if constructed–it will connect not only Turkey with Georgia–but also the entire Caucasian region with Eastern and Western Europe.
"Turkey is not in condition to build the railroad alone," Ismail Cem said. He stressed that Ankara and Tbilisi are continuing their joint efforts in this direction.
