ANKARA (Combined Sources)–Turkey’s ambassador to Sweden flew back to her post Tuesday, some two weeks after she was recalled over the Swedish parliament’s recognition of an Armenian Genocide, the Turkish Anatolia news agency reported.

Speaking to reporters before her departure to Stockholm, Zergun Koruturk said her return became possible after the Swedish government distanced itself from the parliament’s decision. “The Swedish government has clearly said that the decision would not be put into practice,” Koruturk said.

“Calling back an ambassador to his/her country for consultations is a serious reaction, and even a protest, in diplomacy,” she said.  “My return to Sweden is a political decision, just as my return to Turkey.”

Ankara still expects Stockholm to take steps to “compensate for this error,” she said. “I hope the Swedish government will do everything in its power.”

Meanwhile, the United States voiced hope Monday that Turkey would return its ambassador, recalled to Ankara after the House Committee on Foreign Affairs voted to approve the Armenian Genocide Resolution.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu pressed his U.S. counterpart Hillary Clinton in a telephone call Sunday to stop the resolution from advancing to a full vote at the House of Representatives, a ministry spokesman said in Ankara.

The Turkish government will do everything in their power to further deny the Armenian Genocide. It's a shame on their part and they are not doing their citizens any favor by their shameful deeds.

How ridiculous can this drama become? While the Turkish ambassadors are logging frequent flier miles, their government keeps the spin on. Now it's ok to return because “the decision would not be put into practice”. Their must be many enlightened Turks who are apalled by their government's desparate and silly behavior towards
non-binding resolutuons distant third parties recognizing what most of the world regards simplyas a tragic fact.

Turkey has to be accounted for the otrosities against Armenia. There are no other options. They need to find the dissancy to admit their wrong doing.
