GLENDALE–The United Armenian Fund just completed its 10th year of operations during which it sent to Armenia a total of $246 million of humanitarian assistance on board 106 airlifts and 541 sea containers.
During the fiscal year 1998-99–the UAF had revenues of $32 million according to the audit of its financial statemen’s prepared by the accounting firm of Arthur Anderson LLP. Close to $30 million of relief supplies were sent to Armenia during this period.
The audited financial statemen’s reveal that only one percent of the UAF’s revenues were spent on administrative expenses with the remaining 99 percent allocated for assisting the people of Armenia.
The UAF is the collective effort of the Armenian Assembly of America–the Armenian General Benevolent Union–the Armenian Missionary Association of America–the Armenian Relief Society–the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America–the Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America and the Lincy Foundation.
