STEPANAKERT—Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakian received the Vice-President of the European Parliament Jacek Protasiewicz on Monday.
Issues related to Artsakh-Europe relations, the settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabagh conflict, and regional trends were discussed during the meeting.
President Sahakian underlined, that Stepanakert attaches importance to the establishment and continuous strengthening of relations with the European Parliament and other European structures, paying special attention to institutionalize them.
NKR foreign minister Karen Mirzoyan, member of the Armenian National Assembly Tevan Poghosyan, head of the “European friends of Armenia” organization Eduardo Lorenzo Ochoa and other officials partook in the meeting.
Official recognition of Artsakh by Europe is the next logical step.
Look for more involvement from the US and Europe. They now realize the aggressiveness posture of the Russians and will try to counter it. More statements of support towards Armenia and Artsakh should be forthcoming. The tide has shifted as a result of the Ukraine crisis. The only worrisome thing is that Armenia has entrusted too much to the Russians as of late. We have virtually handed over all of our security, sovereignty and resources. They have us exactly where they want us. We trusted too much and gave too much and now the bear is hungry for more.
Very shortly Mr.Jacek Protasiewicz will receive a love letter from Axeri Sultan Aliyev!
It’s not that bad that Russia has invested in Armenia. It will make Azeris think even harder with their monkey brains before starting hostilities. Armenians don’t need Russian troops against Azeris but if Turks get involved, it will be very useful to have Russian support to help Armenians (if there’s a fight on two fronts).
