LOS ANGELES–The Columbus International Film Festival has just announced that the documentary film–"Voices from the Lake-the Secret Genocide," has been awarded the Bronze Plaque in the category of Social Issues–international relations. This is regarded as the second prize out of some sixty competing films.
J. Michael Hagopian is the director of the film which depicts the last days of Kharpert in 1915. It was narrated by London based television anchor person Carla Garapedian. The film is sponsored by the Armenian Film Foundation.
The World Premiere of "Voices from the Lake" will be held on Wednesday–October 18 at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in North Hollywood. Information may be obtained by calling the Armenian Film Foundation at (805) 495-0717.
