On behalf of the Religious and Executive Councils of the Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America and the Armenian Community–we express our deepest sorrow for the loss of lives of those innocent victims who perished as a result of the terrorist attacks of this morning–September 11–2001–in New York and Washington–D.C.
We strongly condemn these cowardly criminal acts committed against humanity that caused the loss of the lives of thousands of innocent people.
The latest act of terrorism committed in New York and Washington D.C. is the most heinous crime committed against the people and the government of the United States of America for the last several decades. We express our deepest sympathy to the people and the government of the United States and especially to the families of the victims. We pray to the Almighty for the peace of their souls. May the good Lord bless their memory. It is our conviction that the governmental authorities of the United States shall determine the perpetrators of this heinous crime caused by this terrorist act.
On Sunday–September 16–2001–special memorial services will be held at all the churches of the Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America.
