YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Yerevan’s newly constructed municipality building will open its doors with the hopes of more effectively tackling its citizens’ problems–without the red tape and delays common to the city’s government institutions.
After touring the building–President Robert Kocharian told reporters that the municipality staff should now be able to work more effectively. "The idea of a one stop service center should be implemented in the municipality so as to ensure uninterrupted service of all municipal business," he said–adding that past complaints of poor working good conditions should now become nonexistent.
Though the construction of the building began in 1980–it was suspended in 1991 and resumed in 2003.
With a total of 13,500 square meters of space–the new building will also house the Yerevan History Museum.
