Hagop Pastermajian receives Medal of the Prince of Cilicia
Mr. Hagop Pastermajian pledged $1,000,000 to St. Hagop School in Canada–only if the community raised funds to match that amount.
On September 14–600 participants gathered at a fundraising banquet for that purpose.
Vartkes and Astghig Sarafian opened donations by pledging $250,000–and by the end of the evening–$1,771,000–in addition to Pastermajian’s pledge–was raised to pay off the school’s mortgage.
His Holiness Aram I Keshishian presented Pastermajian the Medal and Pastoral Decree of the Prince of Cilicia.
