STEPANAKERT—Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Bako Sahakian said on Tuesday that his country’s foreign policy priorities remain the international recognition of Artsakh, a peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict and development of multi-lateral ties with different nations.
Sahakian visited the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic foreign ministry and took part in a meeting dedicated to summing up the activities of the structure in 2012 and the 2013 action plan, the Central Information Department of the Office of the Karabakh President reported.
The President underlined that the sphere of information and propaganda is of particular importance for resolving the issues on the foreign policy agenda and the main emphasis here should be put on the dissemination of accurate and true information about the country and different realms of its life as well as on intensifying efforts to combat Azerbaijan’s anti-Armenian propaganda.
The President emphasized that “here we should abandon the position of reacting and be very proactive, the more so because we have all the moral, legal and political grounds for that.”
Sahakian also considered significant the intensification of diplomatic activity in the field of external economic relations, which would also give an additional impetus to the socioeconomic development of the republic.
Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan, heads of ministry’s different departments delivered reports about the activities of the ministry in the past year, as well as outlined their outlook for foreign policy priorities for the upcoming year.
Dear Bako Sahakian,
Excellent idea. The time has come that Artsakh gets international recognition.
This can be anything from increase in foreign visitors to the country, up to official recognition.
We should also work internally (I am sure you and your government are, but I thought I should give my opinion).
Population need to be increased fast. Artsakh families should have more and more children. This should be encouraged through any media available. Radios, TV, billboards, newspapers, family get together, etc.
DO NOT be afraid of having more children.
Grand parents should assume much bigger role and responsibility than what they have now. They should encourage their sons and daughters to have more children. For the cases when mom wants or needs to work grand parents must step in to help raise the children.
Enormous benefits (economic and social) of having more children should be emphasized over and over. These benefits can be felt almost immediately. Only 3 months after mom’s pregnancy, mom will start looking for baby goods hence increase demand for baby products resulting in more jobs.
Diaspora grand parents should not be spared from their responsibilities. The notion of retirees sitting on the sideline, on park benches and play game should not be encouraged. As a minimum they should pay expenses of a child in Armenia or Artsakh. They can afford it.
Any person helping anyone leaving Armenia or Artsakh should be ashamed of themselves. They should constantly be reminded of their wrong doings.
India and China should be given as an example of how by simple increase in their population they are taking over the world economically and otherwise.

Georgek
