Karanian first traveled to Armenia in 1995, and he has worked there as Associate Dean of the law program at the American University of Armenia. He practices law in Los Angeles. Kurkjian is an environmental scientist in Los Angeles. He first traveled to Armenia in 1995, and has served as Director of the Environmental Research and Conservation Center at the American University of Armenia.
