
YEREVAN (Arka)—Well-known Armenian actor-entertainer Mark Saghatelyan, who was transported to Nairi Medical Center in Yerevan Tuesday, has died today, Novosti-Armenia reported, referring to Deputy Director of Nairi Medical Center Siranush Martirossyan.
Saghatelyan was transferred to the hospital in an unconscious state at12:50am local time. Computerized tomography detected cerebral hemorrhage due to acute leukemia.
Mark Saghatelyan was a KVN (Club of the Funny and Inventive, a famous comedy game show in the former USSR) player, a professional entertainer, regularly a host of major events, and popular actor. Born in 1971, he graduated from secondary school and entered Yerevan State Medical University in 1988.
In June 2012 Saghatelyan had a car accident and was hospitalized in a grave condition. According to doctors, he had numerous fracture traumas. His condition improved after he had an operation in Germany.
The chief anesthesiologist of Armenia’s Ministry of Health, Anatoly Gnuni, sees no connection between the car accident and the acute leukemia Saghatelyan had.
