Summer time and many diasporans are either in Armenia or planning a trip to “Hayrenik.” If this resonates with you, then you probably have been following Ameria’s annual “When in Armenia, Think Ameria. Win a Trip to Armenia!” campaign, wanting to get that ticket to Armenia.
Hundreds of entries later, the campaign is over, and the drawing is done. Former winner Patrick Bairamian did the drawing this year to make the win fair and transparent. Patrick is planning his trip this August. He says he is happy to be a part of Ameria’s campaign. “It’s really unheard in the community to give away a free ticket to Armenia. I was fortunate to win last year. Let’s see who will win this year?”
And, the winner of Ameria’s 2014 annual campaign is homemaker Caroline Khachetoorian-Asadorian! Caroline was thrilled when she found out she is the winner: “I’ve never really won anything in my life. I didn’t think it was legitimate. I can’t believe it.”
It all became real when she was invited to Ameria Group’s LA office to receive her prize from Rafi Manoukian. In Caroline’s words this win from Ameria is not just a free trip, but much more, as it will enable her to help even more families in Armenia.
Caroline Khachetoorian-Asadorian has been going to Armenia every year since 2006. With every visit she has been helping several Armenian families in need: “Now that I have a free ticket, I can do more for Armenia by contributing more funds to the families in need. We help with clothing, money and more. We fix their bathrooms. We get them a washing machine, stove and refrigerator. We replace a broken window. Most importantly we give these families a hope for a better life.”
Caroline has an entire year ahead of her to make this special trip. She is looking forward to visiting Ameria Group’s Yerevan offices: “Now I know a lot about Ameria. This is a very good group for diaspora to trust so they can do business in Armenia so Armenia can grow. Personally, I might open a Diaspora Deposit account when I’m there.”
