Ani was a dedicated member of the ARS for 35 years and was a source of support for the Maro members even while she battled severe illness. Her courage and strength remains an inspiration to those she left behind.
The chapter decided on establishing a scholarship fund as a result of the gracious donations from Ani’s family and friends in her memory. This scholarship, which is meant to recognize and promote academic success, honors her commitment to the promotion of education of young Armenians.
This June, two local Armenian high school graduates were bestowed scholarships in Ani’s name. Raquel Saghdejian, from Mesrobian High School, and Mary Bonoghounian, from Ferrahian High School, were each awarded a $500 scholarship. The two schools selected each hold special significance, as Ani graduated from Mesrobian (class of 1979) and her daughters attended and graduated from Ferrahian (class of 2014), where Ani was an actively involved parent.

The Maro Chapter congratulates the recipients and wishes them much success as they pursue their goals and dreams.
