Funds earmarked for made in Armenia sleeping bags for Artsakh soldiers
GLENDALE— Trustees of the Tina and Richard V. Carolan Foundation, led by long-time benefactor Tina Carolan and her son, Richard Jr., announced a donation of $30,000 to the Armenian Youth Federation’s “With Our Soldiers” campaign, which assists the soldiers of Artsakh and since the brutal attacks by Azerbaijan this past April, has been actively supporting the families of soldiers who died during what has become known as the “four day war.”
The funds have been earmarked for purchase of 2,000 sleeping bags for use by the Defense Army of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. The sleeping bags will be manufactured by Desi LLC at the company’s factory in Vagharshapat, Armenia. The sleeping bags will be delivered to the Armenian Defense Ministry’s warehouse in Yerevan, from where they will be delivered to Artsakh’s Defense Ministry.
In assessing the needs with Armenian authorities following the April attacks, it was concluded that the Artsakh Army would best benefit from the sleeping bags, which will augment the Artsakh Defense Army’s inventory and provide our soldiers the necessary tools to perform their duties in the protecting our homeland.
This latest contribution by the Carolan family highlights their continued commitment and support of the Armenian-American community and efforts to strengthen the Armenian homeland. Throughout the past decades, the Richard V. and Tina Carolan have demonstrated their selfless dedication toward the Armenian Cause and have passed the mantle of generosity to their son, Richard Jr., whose drive and determination will go a long way in ensuring that the Artsakh Defense Army soldiers will be well-equipped.
