BAKU (Armenpress)—Azerbaijanis on social media call Rasul Chunayev to be lynched for losing to Armenian wrestler Migran Arutyunyan in the Rio Olympics, haqqin.az reported, adding that the Azerbaijani defeat to Armenia’s wrestler became the main topic in Azerbaijan yesterday.
Azerbaijani social media users have strictly criticized Chunayev with harsh insults, and have even proposed to initiate a petition to deprive him from Azerbaijani citizenship.
Calls are made to lynch the wrestler upon his return in the airport.
It is noteworthy that Chunayev, who has announced that sports must be separated from politics, has himself turned the wrestling ring into political arena.

Azerbaijan has become Armenophobic due to propaganda from the Azerbaijani leadership, where victory of Armenians against their representative merits a “sentence to death.”
While matters are strictly his choice, a kind country ought to offer this young man asylum. His salute may have been mocking, but he does not deserve death simply for losing a match.
