STEPANAKERT—Armenian serviceman Andranik Musikyan, born in 1997, fell victim to Azerbaijani fire on January 18, the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic Defense Ministry announced.
The Ministry reported that Musikyan was killed at the defense unit of a military base in the southern direction of the Artsakh and Azerbaijani border, also known as the Line of Contact.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry reported that the Azerbaijani forces have violated the ceasefire in the northern direction of the Line of Contact on the evening of January 17-18, “firing around 490 shots toward the Armenian positions.”
The Defense Ministry offered their condolences to Musikyan’s family, friends, and fellow servicemen.
Artsakh president Bako Sahakian on Wednesday posthumously awarded Musikyan a “For Service in Battle” medal for his bravery in defending the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
Very upsetting news, seeing a young Armenian life go is heart wrenching. Every measure needs to be taken to fortify our positions along the contact line and make them as advantageous as possible. Armenia has the resources to do that such as radars, tracking, night vision etc. We can’t allow the monkeys on the other side to have their way and constantly shoot at our positions.
Looking at the picture the description “Armenian serviceman” doesn’t seem to apply. He looks like a 15 year-old child. These casualties must stop. The only way we can do that if we MAKE THEM STOP. There must be a campaign of harsh response. For every boy or serviceman killed we must respond in-kind times 10. Only then they will learn about the high price of their cease-fire violations.

Aren’t we all sick and tired of hearing the same “tune”: The Defense Ministry offered their condolences to (the martyred name………………..family/families ,friends and fellow servicemen” ” President Bako Sahakian …posthumously awarded (the martyred name/names) for a “For Service in Battle” medal for his bravery in defending the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic”. When are we really going to ACT… Wasn’t last year’s 165 “Andraniks” FAR MORE THAN ENOUGH. (and the previous year’s) The time is not with us. The more time passes, Artsakh and Armenia will become more vulnerable. Do we “not know something that we shouldn’t know???”
