After months of planning, hard work, and experimentation, the student scientists at Chamlian Armenian School presented their science fair projects and were interviewed by a distinguished panel of judges. The pro-jects presented were unique, displayed depth, critical thinking skills and application of the strong science program at Chamlian!
The dedicated students of Chamlian displayed their sheer commitment and success throughout the entire process as they balanced school-work, athletics, and extracurricular activities alongside their science projects. These award-winning projects, alongside the students who conducted them, represented the school at the annual AESA Science Olympiad. Chamlian Armenian School student science fair projects were submitted in the categories of Chemistry, Life Science, and Physical Science.
We are immensely proud to share that students from Chamlian Armenian School, through their rigorous dedication and hard work swept the awards during the competition! Chamlian students placed in first place throughout all three categories as well as various other positions. Our winners were as follows: Michael Baghdassarian ranking 1st place in Chemistry, Gary Shirikchian ranking 1st place in Life Science, Jake Grigorian ranking 1st place in Physical Science, Shant Koutnouyan rank-ing 2nd place in Chemistry, Keghon Kasparian ranking 3rd place in Chemistry, and Vahan Kordian ranking 3rd place in Chemistry. We are very proud of our students for their hard work, creativity and innovation as they applied their science knowledge to prepare their award winning projects. We would also like to congratulate our Honorable Mentions: Ra-fael Enfiadjian, Adam Muradyan, Nareh Almassian, Isabella Kedikian, and Gregory Prusalian.

We are also proud to announce that our teacher, Ms. Lida Gevorkian was named Teacher of the Year and Chamlian Armenian School as School of the Year by the AESA! What an outstanding accomplishment for our school!
“I would like to extend our school’s gratitude to our Science Fair Coordi-nator and Science Teacher Mrs. Lida Gevorkian for her leadership and guidance throughout the entire process,” shared Dr. Talin Kargodorian, School Principal. She added, “We are extremely proud not only of her ac-tive leadership within the Science Fair, but for the fact that she won teacher of the year and that Chamlian Armenian School has won school of the year. Science Fairs provide invaluable experiences for students. These fairs provide cross curricular learning opportunities for students in-tegrating multiple subjects into one project, such as English, Math, Sci-ence, as well as critical thinking, problem solving, analysis, comput-er/technology and public speaking skills. The hands on learning experi-ences Science Fairs provide for our students are necessary for our 21st century learners!”
We look forward to our students’ participation in the Los Angeles County Fair which will take place at the end of this week!
Great job Chamlian Tigers!
