Azerbaijani snipers fired on Armenia’s Tavush region fatally wounding Mushegh Abovyan, a soldier of the Armenian Armed Forces, reported the defense ministry. The incident took place on Thursday at 6:20 p.m. local time.
“These provocations by Azerbaijan not remain unanswered,” said Armenian defense ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannesyan in a Facebook post. “We express our condolences to the relatives and family members of Mushegh Abovyan.”
A criminal investigation has been launched into the Thursday attack.
Another soldier who was wounded as a result of cross-border firing on Tuesday died on Thursday, according to Hovhannesyan, who specified the Abovyan’s death was not related.

Hello I am very upset again about young Armenian soldiers getting killed by Azerbaijani snipers very frequently. As an Armenian patriot and a person who cares about Armenians I would like to express my feelings to all Armenians. Something has to be done to stop this slow massacre of young Armenian soldiers.
In the past I have posted comments that you did not publish in order to avoid embarrassment and shame? Why is the Armenian Defense Ministry is not correcting and avoiding killings by snipers? I need feedback from all Armenians.
As an American who grew up with Armenians I would like to see an answer for this issue in Arsakh that happens often.

truly it bring tear to my eyes when I see any young Armenian hero is murdered by savages.
It is clear that Azerbaijan knows they will have difficulty in a full scale war so they’re chosing a long term war by attrition which involves slowly killing conscripts while blockading the country. No one on our side is talking about numbers. During the entire Artsakh liberarion war we lost 6000 soldiers. During “peacetime” we’ve lost about 3000. Therefore there is no peacetime, we’re in a fullscale war but the pace is controlled by the enemy. Everyone knows you dont give your enemy the ability to control anything in battle, so clearly this “defensive” and “peace-loving” doctrine is bleeding us dry.
When the Pashinyan team was in opposition they kept blaming the Russians or the “corrupt” Serzh and military for these losses. Now that Pashinyan is prime minister we can see his impotence in this matter too. We have lost 2 boys in the last week alone with another boy rendered permanently invalid due to Azerbaijan and all Anna Hakobyan and Nikol can do is preach peace.
When we acquire more territory from Azerbaijan, additional territory will be required based on how many of our 18 yr old children we lost senselessly at the border. If we only lost about 500 so far since the ceasefire, then well have a rayon named after every fallen hero, so that they know that they did not fall in vain.
