YEREVAN-Armenia’s Justice Ministry was expected to announce its decision on the reinstatement of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation in Armenia on Friday.
Representatives of the ARF Executive Council in Armenia Rouben Hakobian–Gagik Mkrtchian and Roland Sharoyan met with Minister Marat Alexanian on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss the request filed with the ministry by the Executive Council in August 1996.
The media had also been invited to attend the Wednesday session–during which Hakobian expressed disappointment regarding inconsistencies in Armenian law.
Minister Alexanian said Tuesday that the documen’s filed by the Executive Council were not sufficient to lift the ban on activities of the ARF in Armenia.
