YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)The January 1997 investment activity index–"Hrant," has increased by 18 percent compared to the previous month. The reported growth for December 1996 was 7.4.
This clearly differs from the situation observed last year when the index was constantly falling– "Hrant" brokerage director Haik Martirossian said.
In 1996 the index dropped two-fold–from 15.11 in January down to 7.4 by December.
However–the data is not sufficient to determine whether the growth is due to changes in investment tendencies in Armenia–Martirossian said.
