KAPAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Kapan ore mining and processing enterprise is once again operating after two months of being closed down.
Director of the enterprise–Garnik Arakelian–said that over a thousand people will have jobs due to the opening of the mine.
The Iranian "Efsan" company signed a contract reopening the mine and supplying it with the necessary equipment.
The administration of the enterprise is taking measures to overcome the present financial crisis. It will be difficult to ensure the growth of production–although a slight growth in production of copper concentrate and 22 percent growth in zinc production were reported–Arakelian said. Arakelian believes that the only way out of the present situation is to allocate loans to the enterprise.
