ANKARA (Azg)–According to a publication of the Jamanak Turkish daily–Azerbaijan sent a letter protesting the United State’s mining for gold in the Zod region of Armenia.
Investigations of gold mines are carried out by the joint US-Armenia company–Global Gold Armenia. According to the letter–the gold mines in Zod are situated on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border–with its main part on Azeri soil.
According to resolution #822 of the UN Security Council–the Zod region is occupied by Armenia.
