GLENDALE–Intellectuals and academicians from the Armenian community of Los Angeles–gathered last Wednesday to discuss the current developmen’s and crises regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution.
The issue of the internationally proposed "step-by-step" concession of Karabakh to Azerbaijan and the posturing of Armenian authorities regarding that issue was specifically discussed. The more that 50 participants issued an announcement regarding the Karabakh question [please refer to page 9 of this issue for the Armenian text of this announcement.]
At the conclusion of the discussion–and keeping in mind the imperative of the situation–an administrative executive body was elected–whose task would be to continue efforts in making the voice of the intellectual community heard. According to this executive’s spokesperson–the collection of signatures continues.
Asbarez–has already provided coverage to a similar gathering in Armenia on Oct. 17–during which the intelligentsia in Armenia issued and signed a declaration.
