YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia–Khosrov Haroutiunian–announced his support of presidential candidate Acting President and Prime Minister Robert Kocharian. Haroutiunian said he regards Kocharian as the only leader capable of safeguarding Armenia from sudden events and revolutions–capable of guiding Armenia toward a better future.
The speaker stressed that he was not a member of Kocharian’s campaign team.
