YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Constitutional Court of Armenia made public a ruling–on Tuesday–which recognized as constitutionally valid the agreement signed between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation "on use of weapons outside the Russian army base in Armenia."
The agreement was signed in Moscow on August 29–1997–in view of the need to regulate the use of weapons by enlisted personnel of the Russian military outside the army bases. The agreement provides on duty soldiers the right to bear weapons outside the base and apply them as a means of signaling alarm or summoning help.
