YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Armenia-based office of the UNHCR did not confirm the information that a group of Armenia’s arriving in Armenia from Yugoslavia were refugees.
Talking to Noyan Tapan–the UNHCR representative to Armenia Tomas Birat said that a group of Armenia’s–most of them being women–recently arrived in Armenia from Yugoslavia. He stressed that they can not be considered refugees under the international resolutions. These people were citizens of Armenia and left for Yugoslavia in the early 90s to find jobs.
