YEREVAN (Armenpres)–The price for gasoline in Armenia has gone up by almost 15 percent over the last four weeks and reached an unprecedented point at 310 drams ($0.57) a liter. Experts say it may put new pressure on economy resulting in further inflation. The petrol importing companies say the price hike is due to continuing increase in the price of crude oil in the world markets.
The upward trend is already having negative consequence in the agricultural sector–especially with the start of the harvest season.
