YEREVAN (Armenpress)–To secure efficient use of its funds the Armenian government has decided that each purchase made to meet governmen’s needs that exceeds 250,000 Drams (approximately $500) is to be realized by a specially set up agency for state purchases.
The Agency will act on behalf of the customer and the relevant government commission will decide through a tender who the supplier will be.
The Agency will sign a contract with the supplier and thus will be fully accountable to the government.
The agency is not liable to conclude deals that are regarded as secret. They are supposed to be made by relevant government bodies through closed tenders.
