Fortieth Day Requiem Services for Archbishop Mesrob Ashjian and Archbishop Sahag Ayvazian will take place in all Western Prelacy parishes on Sunday–January 4. Archbishop Mardirossian will perform the Divine Liturgy at the Forty Martyr’s Armenian Apostolic Church in Orange County.
The Prelacy asks for the presence of its faithful at the services–to pray for the souls of the deceased.
Archbishop Ashjian–the former Prelate of the Eastern Prelacy–died suddenly on December 2 in New York City. He was 62 years old.
Archbishop Ayvazian–the Prelate of Greece–died on November 30 in Greece. He was 73 years old.
