KRASNODAR (Yerkir)–Ten tombs were found vandalized on August 13 at the cemetery located in Razdolnoye village near the southern Russian city of Sochi–reported Yerkramas–the weekly paper published by the local Armenian community.
Unidentified vandals reportedly inscribed the word "schizophrenia" on some of the vandalized tombs–while they attached pieces of paper with the same word on others. Seven of the tombs belonged to Russia’s and three to Armenia’s.
Local police said the incident is similar to an act committed at a cemetery in a nearby village where 29 graves were vandalized on July 29. A criminal investigation has been launched into the case.
