YEREVAN (Armenpress)–About $8 million in donations has been pledged to Armenia Fund at the annual Thanksgiving Day Telethon held November 25 in Los Angeles. Armenia’s from around the world participated–including Armenia’s in the Americas–Europe–Russia–Armenia–and Mountainous Karabagh Republic.
The funds collected will be directed to a major infrastructure development project in the Mardakert region of Mountainous Karabagh Region–which was especially hit hard during the war with Azerbaijan.
Around $1.2 million was raised in Armenia and Karabagh alone–and as much was raised in Europe. According to Armenia Fund–most of the donations were made by ordinary diasporan Armenia’s.
