YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Austrian Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik suggested a “time-out” may be wise in the European Union’s talks with Turkey over possible EU membership. "If there’s no important move from here until December, then it might be wise to agree to a time-out to reduce tensions,” Plassnik said on her way to a foreign ministers meeting Monday in Brussels. The EU scolded Turkey last week for its ban on ships and airplanes from Greek-speaking member state Cyprus, heightening the risk of a breakdown in the Turkish drive to join the EU.
