SANTA ANA–Students and Faculty of the Ari G. Minassian School of Orange County proudly participated in various special events during the month of October in celebrating Armenian Cultural Month.
On Friday, October 10, the local ARS “Sevan” Chapter members conducted a cooking demonstration of “Mante and Yogurt” to students 1st through 5th grade. The students were able to participate in hands on demonstration of making this traditional Armenian Dish. It was surely a memorable and “tasty” experience. In addition, this event will be highlighted on the ARS Vision segment on the Armenian Television Network “Horizon.”
On Wednesday, October 15, Mrs. Ani Geloyan, Lead Armenian Instructor of the A G Minassian School and the entire Armenian Educational Staff lead the students in a very special cultural program held at the Forty Martyrs Armenian Apostolic Church Auditorium. Students K through 5th grade recited poetry, sang songs, a theatrical short play and presented a wonderful afternoon of Armenian Language, Culture and Music.
On Sunday, October 19, following a special High Mass at the Forty Martyrs Armenian Apostolic Church, the opening ceremony and blessing by his Eminence Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian of the annual “Book fair” took place at the Harut Barsamian Armenian Center’s Ghazarian Hall. Participants were be able to view and purchase various Armenian Items, Literature, Videos and Music at this annual event. The event was organized by the Ari. G. Minassian’s School Administration and PTO and was a great success. In addition, Armenian specialties were served at the Gugasian Hall and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Forty Martyrs Armenian Church organized this.
