PARIS (Combined Sources)—Several political party leaders in France urged Turkey to recognize the Armenian Genocide, reported the France-2 television channel.
Motivated by their inherent opposition to Turkey’s membership in the European Union, the mainly right-leaning political parties are attempting to use the Genocide recognition issue to create further obstacles for Turkey. Meanwhile, the left-leaning parties are hoping for reforms in Turkey, especially on the treatment of minorities and the Armenian issue.
