TEHRAN (FNA)–Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian is scheduled to arrive in Tehran Tuesday evening to discuss bilateral ties and cooperation in meetings with senior Iranian officials.
Official reports from Tehran said Nalbandian will meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki to discuss “bilateral, regional and international relations.”
Last week, Armenia’s Ambassador to Tehran, Grigore Araklian, told the Iranian Farse News Agency that several high-ranking Armenian officials would travel to Iran following Nalbandian’s visit.
Iran and Armenia have expanded their bilateral relations in recent years, particularly in political, economic, trade and cultural fields. Earlier in February, Iran hosted a conference to bolster trade and investment opportunities in Armenia.
During that same conference, Armenian and Iranian officials expressed hope that relations between the two countries would witness a giant leap forward in the coming year.
