LOS ANGELES–The Armenian Dramatic Arts Alliance (ADAA), in conjunction with the Los Angeles Theater Center (LATC) Annual Playwrights Festival will present a staged reading of Silva Semerciyan’s play, ‘Another Man’s Son,’ on January 30, 2011, 6-8pm at LATC, 514 S. Spring Street in downtown Los Angeles. Admission is free.
The play won ADAA’s 2010 William Saroyan Prize for Playwriting. The play will be directed by award-winning director/writer Michael Arabian, who is also a member of ADAA’s Industry Advisory Board.
The stellar cast includes Ken Davitian (Borat, Get Smart), David Alpay (Ararat), Gregory Zarian (General Hospital), Anahid Shahrik (After Freedom), Jade Hykush (Chasing Tchaikovsky), Shaun Duke (90210, Sideways), Greg Deralian (Chuck), Marco Khan (Iron Man), Mariam Vardanyan (Sinbad) and Shushanig Der Stepanian (Plastic & Strings).
“Another Man’s Son” is about an Armenian family in 1958 Beirut, forced to confront the hidden consequences of the genocide. Playwright Silva Semerciyan is based in London and lectures in playwriting at City of Bristol College.
The Armenian Dramatic Arts Alliance’s mission is to project the Armenian voice on a world stage through the arts of theater and film.
