GLENDALE—Dr. Hayk Demoyan, Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute in Yerevan, Armenia, will give a series of lectures in the Los Angeles area from March 24 to 27. The principal sponsors of the lectures are the Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region, Organization of Istanbul Armenians, Ararat-Eskijian Museum, and the National Association for Armenian Studies and Research.

Dr. Hayk Demoyan is the Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute in Yerevan, Armenia, a position he has held since 2006. Demoyan was born in the city of Leninakan (now Gyumri) in Soviet Armenia. He received his Ph.D. from the Institute of Oriental Studies at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, and is a lecturer at the History Department of Yerevan State University. He is also a researcher and has written several books on such topics such as the Armenian Genocide, Turkish foreign policy, and Turkey’s involvement in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict of 1991-1994. His most recent book publication is Armenian Sports and Gymnastics in the Ottoman Empire (in Armenian, 2009).
