LITTLE ARMENIA—The Armenian National Committee—Hollywood Chapter is hosting its second “Movie Night” on Saturday, November 19 at 7 p.m. in the recently opened Armenian Youth Center in Hollywood. Admission to the event is $5 at the door and free for all kids 14 and under as well as seniors.
Following the success of the first movie night in September of this year, the ANC Hollywood team decided to bring the community together once again for a fun evening, this time while screening the hilarious Armenian comedy “Mer Bak 3,” produced by Ruben Jaghinyan and starring our favorite Armenian stars Hrant Tokhatyan, Ashot Ghazaryan, Shushan Petrosyan, Grisha Aghakhanyan, among many others.
The film portrays, in comedic fashion, the problems Yerevan residents face on a day-to-day basis. All the city residents gather about one small yard or bak. This way of life has followed Armenians across the oceans to the United States, so that Los Angeles’s “Little Armenia” might very well be the new “Mer Bak” to many Armenian Americans today.
“Besides the great comedy, this exciting event will also include delicious Armenian food from our neighborhood, a free raffle entry for a chance to win a prize, and an opportunity to meet friends new and old in a fun Saturday night,” said ANC Hollywood chairman Paul Seradarian.
“The ANC Hollywood team looks forward to bringing the Little Armenia community together and providing a safe and friendly place for residents of all ages,” said ANC Hollywood board member Srbui Karapetian. So save the date and join ANC Hollywood this Saturday as they create Little Armenia’s own version of “Mer Bak.”
The ANC-Hollywood Chapter promotes greater understanding of issues of concern to the area’s Armenian American community and strives to increase Armenian American civic participation at the grassroots and public policy levels.
