GLENDALE—In response to an appeal by Chamlian’s Administration, the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMDR) has donated a DNA Gel Electrophoresis Chamber for the school’s Science Lab. This equipment, used to study DNA, will expose our students to the field of Molecular Biology while giving them a unique hands-on experience with the scientific process.
During a recent visit to Chamlian, Dr. Frieda Jordan, President of ABMDR, and Dr. Vergine Madelian, Director of Outreach and Education at ABMDR, presented the equipment to the school. Chamlian’s Science Department Chair, Lida Gevorkian, was on hand to accept the generous gift.
“ABMDR has had a strong partnership with Chamlian Armenian School for several years,” stated Dr. Frieda Jordan. She added, “Students and staff have sponsored and participated actively in our events, and ABMDR, in turn, has helped the school with its science fair. We are very happy to donate scientific equipment to help advance the creation of its DNA molecular laboratory.”
Chamlian’s Principal, Vazken Madenlian, proudly acknowledged ABMDR’s support of the school’s Science program, stating, “We are lucky to have partners such as ABMDR, who not only provide great service to the Armenian community, but also to the world of science.”
