The Armenian Education Foundation will host a fundraising event on June 23, titled “Honoring Our Educators,” dedicated to recognizing the exceptional contributions of educators within the Armenian community. The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the private residence of Vahe and Ruzan Kuzoyan.
Educators who will be honored at the fundraiser includee: Carmen Der Garabedian, Holy Martyrs Ferrahian High School & Cabayan Elementary School; David Ghoogasian, AGBU Manoogian Demirdjian School; Sona Madarian, Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School; Sona Madenlian, Holy Martyrs Ferrahian High School Zepur Mardirosian, Holy Martyrs Ferrahian High School & Cabayan Elementary School; and Roubina Pakradouni, Armenian Mesrobian School.
The evening will feature a special performance by pianist and composer Grigori Balasanyan, a recipient of the AEF Richard R. Tufenkian Scholarship in 2022. Grigori is a young Armenian composer whose work combines the richness of Armenian cultural heritage with contemporary musical styles. One of his notable achievements is having performed at Carnegie Hall and other prestigious venues.

Since its establishment in 1950, the Armenian Educational Foundation has been instrumental in fostering the educational development of students in the diaspora and the homeland. With over 74 years of service, AEF has consistently provided financial assistance to Armenian educational institutions and students of Armenian descent. Since 2000, AEF has disbursed $5.5 million to renovate over 200 schools in the villages of Armenia, Artsakh, and Javakhk, and over $6.3 million in scholarships to students in Armenia and the diaspora.
The AEF’s programs also include advancing IT education through the AEF Engineering Labs, supporting schools in the diaspora, and supporting Artsakh war veterans with scholarships, laptops and other essential educational resources.
